Ways to work together

Seven levels of support

  1. Pay-as-you-go consultation

Independent advice on a specific strategic question

A focused one-hour video consultation to examine the evidence and assumptions, test the available options and decide what to do next.

    • One strategic question and limited supporting material submitted in advance
    • Up to 30 minutes of preparation
    • One 60-minute consultation
    • A brief email recording conclusions and next actions

Additional research, extensive document review and formal written reports can be scoped separately.

  2. Executive and Board strategy sessions

Reach clear decisions in a well-prepared strategy session

I prepare and lead focused sessions where important strategic choices need to be made. I structure the evidence and trade-offs, challenge assumptions and help the group leave with clear decisions, actions and ownership.

Indicative investmentFrom £5,500 plus VATDepending on preparation and follow-through.

  3. Strategy coaching and advice

Address the strategy yourself, with experienced support

For CEOs, CXOs and Strategy Directors who want to lead the work internally but value regular independent advice and challenge. We can use the time to develop the strategy, tackle a particular strategic problem, review evidence or prepare for Executive and Board discussions.

    Typical arrangementThree or six months

Indicative investmentFrom £3,000 plus VAT per month

  4. Strategy Health Check

Find what is holding your strategy back in one week

A focused, independent assessment for leadership teams with an existing strategy who need to know whether it is clear, credible, aligned and executable. I identify the few blockers that matter most and what to address first.

    • Sponsor briefing, review of strategy, planning, performance and governance material, and up to eight targeted stakeholder interviews
    • Assessment of strategic clarity, choices, alignment, governance and execution capability
    • Concise findings report covering strengths, gaps, priority actions for the next 30, 60 and 90 days, and a recommended next step
    • Senior read-out to discuss the evidence and agree immediate priorities

Standard scope: one business unit, remote delivery and one senior read-out. Additional interviews, extensive research, travel, facilitation and implementation support are scoped separately.

    Fixed fee£9,500 plus VAT

  5. Strategy Discovery Sprint

Clarify the choices your next strategy must address

A focused investigation into strategic uncertainty, emerging threats and opportunities, stakeholder tensions and the choices to make before creating or refreshing a strategy.

Useful when there is no sufficiently current strategy to review, market or customer needs are shifting, the operating model is under pressure, or a crossroads such as growth, digital and AI change, regulation, a merger or a new proposition calls for fresh choices.

    • Interviews across levels and functions to surface tensions, assumptions and unanswered strategic questions
    • Targeted external research and horizon scanning within agreed limits
    • Examination of initial strategic options, beyond gaps in existing documents
    • Facilitated synthesis workshop to agree the most important questions and choices

The output is an opportunity and threat map, key assumptions to test, strategic questions, initial options and a recommended route into strategy development: a well-evidenced agenda for strategic choice and design.

The sprint establishes what strategic work is required; it does not deliver a complete strategy.

  6. Strategy development and execution

Develop the strategy and make it ready to deliver

I lead focused strategy projects or complete enterprise-strategy engagements, from diagnosis and evidence gathering through strategic choices, financial evaluation and Board presentation.

I then translate the agreed direction into priorities, initiatives, KPIs, ownership and governance so that execution can begin. The work can cover growth, turnaround, market entry, products, distribution, AI, data, digital change and Target Operating Models.

  7. Interim management

Bring in experienced strategy leadership for a defined period

For businesses that need senior capacity to lead a strategy, transformation or strategically important programme without making an immediate permanent appointment.

I work directly with the CEO and leadership team, take responsibility for agreed outcomes and provide the structure and momentum needed to move the work forward.

How I work

I personally lead every engagement. Where additional capacity or specialist knowledge would help, I can introduce trusted associates with your agreement. Client confidentiality is protected and non-disclosure agreements are available.
